For quite a while I have noticed that testing 2 hours (8+), after a meal my reading is still on the high side but after 4 hours it is back to around 6.4
Is this OK?
My current weight is 92.8 my doctor wants this down to 88.5 to give me a BMI of below 25 currently 26.9.
This is causing a problem because I am just stuck at my current weight. I know the less you weigh the better it is for my diabetes.
I check both the carbs and the calories for each meal and I use a side plate for my meals so the portion size is very small.
For lunch today I will have 2 savory biscuits and 50 grams of cheese followed by a banana. To drink I will have a glass of tap water.
Although I am retired I walk between...
I have been on my diet for the best part of a year and have stuck to about 1500 calories for the same time.
I am 6'2" tall and weight 92.8kg and have been that for most of the diet.
In fact looking back at my records I weighed about the same when I boxed in my 20's, I am now 70
Yes I have adjusted my diet am applying a suitable eating plan but on the weight front nothing has changed and my readings still stick around 7.5 - 8.8
I was first put on Metformin but had a really bad time I am now on Tragenta 5mg.
Whilst I have no side effects the drug does not seem to do anything, is this right and I am just worried about nothing?
Yes I was chopping logs, is it best only to test at the beginning and end of the day?
Also I have been told to have a snack before going to bed, is this correct?
Quick question when I tested before breakfast the reading was 7.2 after 2 hours it was 7.6. When I test before lunch 2 hours later it was 8.7 my question is why?
Breakfast was 2 boiled medium eggs and 1 slice of bread and butter.
Yes I am trying very hard to drop some weight but for the passed 6 months I have been stuck at around 96kg
I am 6'3" tall and 70years old, I take a lot of exercise each day walking between 5 and 10 miles
I was advised that porridge would be OK as it was slow release. I make it with water and no sugar.
All my meals are now served on a side plate to reduce the amount.
If possible I try not to exceed 2,000 calories a day and only drink water, tea or coffee.
