Good morning all,
Am pleased to report that Son2 has had his final operation and been released from hospital. He won't be allowed to drive for six months and exercise will be severely curtailed. Its going to be a time of adjustment for him.

News arrived yesterday that Son2 will have the ICD implanted next Thursday . That is if he manages to remain infection free until then. If all goes well he might be home by the weekend.
MrSlim is threatening to kidnap me home. I understand that a great deal of work has...
Have just written a long and detailed update, on Page 1, realising my mistake, i copied and then deleted it. Only to find when i pasted here that only one word had survived the process.
So. Precis.
MrSlim is back to normal.

Update on son2
Because of the previous virulent lung infection that nearly succeeded in drowning him ( over 2 litres of fluid drained from his lungs) Son2 has been on an extended course of antibiotics. These had to be cleared from his system and he needed to remain infection free for at least 48...

and wants to do a heart biopsy. This would extract a piece about half the size of a grain of rice and...
My son had the great good sense to collapse in the company of trained first aiders and right outside the sports centre where there was a defibrillator immediately available. Even so it took three attempts to get his heart beating again.
Multiple tests over subsequent days
The doctors called...
Having a tough time at just now.
Son2 is in ICU. Been there for ten days now after his heart stopped while he was out for a run.
Luckily he got immediate first aid CPR and defibrillator but it was only yesterday the doctors were able to bring him round.
So in UK for a while. Staying with...

Whew, it's certainly been one of those weeks with so many appliances failing at once. Good luck for a bit more longevity for the rest. Hope you chase off that awful lurgy soon
