Our friend is a farmers daughter, has a smallholding and raises ducks, chickens, and geese for eggs and meat, as well as rabbits for meat. She is the not at all sentimental about animals- but admitted to tears over the pig. That didn't stop her eating the meat though. We had some of it, gifted...

One of our friends raised a pig for meat, it did escape regularly and it was very friendly, when the time came she was so upset that she has not kept a pig since. So beware of getting too attatched.
