Carbohydrates - Food of the Devil?

The way we live has changed. Full stop. Our bodies are designed to live a hunter-gatherer lifestyle. Evolution is a slow process and modern medicine removes the 'survival of the fittest' equation. We eat more and move less. We drive cars and watch too much TV. Both parents have to work to make...

I don't have any T2 advice or pearls of wisdom for you and I can't make the difficulties you are facing right now disappear. But what I will say Charis is this... Be kind to yourself. You are an amazing, unique individual. There is no-one else like you. Only compare yourself to you to truly know...

New to meds, concerned about side effects

Side effects of Metformin kick in really quick! I remember saying to my hubby 'I hope that urgent and explosive bowel movement was down to something I ate and not the new meds I have to take for the rest of my life!' Too much information? Maybe, but hey if we can't keep it real here, where can...

Oh the times they are a...

T2D friendly soothing drink for a sore throat?

I am newly diagnosed T2D on Metformin and I've got a stinking cold! So I'd normally reach for a nice hot mug of Ribena with a teaspoon of honey to soothe my throat. Have you got any diabetic friendly suggestions to replace all that sugar?

    Just diagnosed and feeling depressed

Hi and welcome to the group! I too suffer from depression and am newly diagnosed T2D and now on meds for both. I started going to the gym a few months back before my T2D diagnosis as a way of improving my mental health. It is helping and will now also be good for my diabetes. I view my gym fee...
