Novo Nordisc Echo Pen - Watch For Cartridge Holder Breaks

I get so frustrated with the amount of paraphernalia I have to travel with - both work and holiday. I am on Freestyle Libre (self funded) so I carry spares of this device also. What really gets me is hotels (abroad) which charge for a fridge in your room!

Novo Nordisc Echo Pen - Watch For Cartridge Holder Breaks

I have 2 spares now :) Unless I am travelling away on business I keep my pens separate as Ive injected Rapid 3 times at night instead of my Long Acting Levemir. 1st time I did this I woke up at 2am with a major Hypo. Fortunately, I realised in my semi conscious state what I had done and sure...

Novo Nordisc Echo Pen - Watch For Cartridge Holder Breaks

I don't normally post anything on here, but thought I would share this insight. Whilst on a recent business trip to Canada I was getting some very strange BG readings, which just did not make sense. I put this down to lots of travelling, change of time zones and change to eating patterns...

some feedback on using the FreeStyle Libre sensor

Hi. A couple of things to add here. I have had my Libre for just 2 weeks now. You have 15mins to input data into the reader post a scan. After this point you can't add in data such as insulin injected, carbs, exercise etc. The meter is set to 1mmol increments, if you inject .5 then your...

Just started Tresiba - bad experience

Thats a really big jump from 8 to 14 and I would caution doing this. 2 units change for a few days and gauge the results. If not moving in the right way try a further 2 units. Just my opinion, so sorry for jumping in.

Just started Tresiba - bad experience

Hi. I think we are quite similar, so here is my experience. I am still on low doses of both long acting (Tresiba) and short (Novorapid), having been diagnosed just over 2 years ago. I was on Levemir up until mid Dec 2016, when I was moved onto Tresiba. The problem I think with Levemir is...

How to keep your meter working in the cold?

Thanks for all the feedback/advice. I'm new on here and really pleased to have such a great network of experience. Look forward to joining in when I have something to contribute. None of my circle of friends is diabetic or Type 1 so they find it really hard to understand that its 24/7 (well...

The lanyard/pouch is a good idea, will give it a try on my next outing. Thanks!

How to keep your meter working in the cold?

Hi everyone I have started walking/hiking and find that my meter stops working when it gets cold. Have tried keeping it on the inside of my jacket, but this is a bit hit and miss. If I place it under my arm pit to warm it up, it starts working again, but this a real pain. Any advice?

Poll: Which diabetes course(s) have you attended?

For those in the Stockport area I would recommend getting a place on a SOCCER (Stockport Optimising Carbohydrate Counting, Eduction & Results) Course. Its one day a week for 4 consecutive weeks, in which you transpose your BG readings onto a graph, results are analysed and your medication...

Forgot to inject Levemir this morning...

Just new on here, so this is my 1st post. Sound advice above. I've recently moved to these Pens and they are brilliant. Just one piece of advice - try to get a Blue and a Red one, that way its easier to tell them apart. One for Bolus and one for Basal. Cuts down the chance of making mistakes.
