    Just read your thread with interest, I humbly suggest that Lamont is spot on and you would be better off eating little (under 20gms) of carbs per day. Good medical staff are hard to find, don't take their advice as gospel...... they are only a second opinion. It's your life don't forget...

    Returning old boy.

    Been a few years since I last appeared here. I just got fed up with my lot in life, but now I'm moderately enthused with my progress. Turned my health around with very low carb, intermittent fasting and a willing wife. Hba1c of 35 last November and hoping for similar next time round.

    I've been very lucky, my GP and the practice staff have left me alone to get on with it myself. I found this site and as they say 'the rest is history'. I lost 24 lbs and dropped my HBa1c by 20 in 4 months. If they had 'helped' me Lord knows what would have happened.

    Hi all, when I asked my trainer at the local gym should I use a low carb whey his reply was "Whey is a supplement, do you have a rubbish diet? If not then don't waste your money".
