Sounds like a case of too much basal. I’m assuming you’re female due to your name but I also find this can happen suddenly to me just before my period starts.
One more thing. Pasta can be slow releasing especially if eaten with protein and fat. I tend to hypo more often after eating pasta as my...
A hypo in the night will feel a lot more disorientating than a daytime hypo. I have been below 3.0 in the day and it has felt like a panic attack but in the night it has felt like I am going to collapse. My diabetic nurse explained this is due to the bodies adrenaline kicking in to wake you up...
Wow I didn’t realise you could get the L3 yet. I’ll speak to my team and tell them the trouble I’m having, unfortunately my diabetic nurse a massive meanie and I think he will just tell me to try it on my forehead or something.
I can’t get the sensors to fit on the back of my arm very well because I am petite and thin. Ideally I’d like to hold out for the libre 3 as it’s smaller so would probably fit on me a lot better.
But like I said, I’ve had no problem for many years until recently. So I’m just suspicious they’ve...
I have been using the freestyle libre continuously for over 5 years now and the Libre 2 for the past couple years. There has been some that aren’t very accurate but most have been fine, and hardly any have failed midway through the 2 weeks.
However, for the past few months I have had sensor...
I wonder how you’ve settled down with the Tresiba now?? I am the same as you and struggle with hormone fluctuations (with little to no predictable pattern) and my diabetic nurse put me on Tresiba but I decided to not take it because it seemed entirely inappropriate for my needs.
I stuck with...
I have always found roast potatoes (the carbs mixed with fat) affect my blood sugars overnight. I also have the dawn phenomenon where blood sugars rise in the morning and find I have to overcompensate with novorapid before I can eat breakfast. I will ALWAYS dose novorapid in the morning if I am...
Wow I hate looking at male diabetic glucose graphs, they always seem so stable in comparison to my hormonal rollercoaster.
Can’t wait to investigate further.
Thanks Scott, this was helpful. You’re right, it will take time. I don’t know what third party transmitters are so I guess I’ll look into that. Thank you! I just hope the strange readings won’t reflect badly on my trial when they decide if I can get it on prescription. Because as irritating as...
I would suggest finger pricking in the last 4 days to make sure it is accurate between 4.5 and 8.5, because it isn’t consistently for me during that time.
I also get low readings when I’m up and walking around for the first 4 and last 4 days. Freak out while I’m out initially and says I’m 3.3 and fingerprick says I’m 5
I’m always comparing my tests with fingerprick. The libre is way too inconsistent for it to be a trusted piece of equipment for a condition that relies on making life and death decisions based on a machines reliability
