Hi, please let me delete my account.

I see this account has been deleted. I’m trying to delete my account also. And have had no help from anyone, can whoever sorted this out, also delete my account?

Any ideas what may have caused this?

Taking Hypo Treatments at 12 or below, as Danny has already stated, will send his Blood Sugars sky-rocketing. So we can reasonably assume until he gets better at treating them they are going to continue to shoot above 16 when he treats them. As such, every time he does a treatment he will be...

Any ideas what may have caused this?

Draco can you explain a bit more about where you got this approach from? The reason I ask is, if Danny treats 12 and below as a Hypo, even treating it modestly will likely send him above 16. You’re also suggesting to him not eating if his blood sugar is above 16, but your first piece of advice...

    Omnipod dash

Basically, when you go into the PDM tap Bolus. If you don't enter anything in the Carb box, you can edit the Dose box and just type in the amount of Insulin you want to take. *actually you can always edit the Dose box, I just find it easier to avoid 'phantom carbs'.

Would this formula actually work in Danny’s case? Isn’t the logic behind this formula that TDD is keeping you in range, which Danny’s clearly isn’t, like at all.

Why does blood sugar sometimes rise 3-4hrs after dinner?

I have a wee note on my phone with all my FPU calculations for quick reference later. Makes things less time consuming in the long-run. One thing to watch is the overall dose needed for meals may drop as a result of using this supplemental dose. I had to drop my carb ratio to accommodate dosing...

Just to add a pragmatic element to this managing your levels with a Pump is more difficult* than managing them with injections. Adding an extra layer of difficulty, might not be the best course of action for you right now. *In the sense, there's a lot more going on that you have to be aware of.

    Strange Pod Issue

Thought I’d reawaken this thread to ask this question, as it provides some relevant context. So since this issue, I’ve seen a reoccurring pattern of this. Between 36 hours and 48 hours into a new pod my insulin looses its effectiveness. Due to the issue above I’ve been a lot faster at...

    Omnipod dash

It's interesting that works for you, if I did that my levels would rocket into the stratosphere. Taking a 0.05 dose of Bolus right after applying the pod, and routinely doing pump changes after my last meal of the day has helped me a lot.

Why does blood sugar sometimes rise 3-4hrs after dinner?

I do this, and it’s completely eliminated late spikes. Though I found dosing at 2 hours exactly after I finished eating worked best for me*, but that’s very much down to “we’re all different”. *My approach with a pump has been different, but is neither here nor there to this conversation.

How many times does everyone check their glucose levels every day?

I’m not sure how they explained it to you, but they explained it to us as it’s a good idea to test four times a day minimum, not maximum. Also that 4 times a day number didn’t account for the existence of Libre, so definitely did not have that device in mind. So yeah, it’s good to test before...

    Freestyle libre 2 problems

This forum is also, largely speaking, a place to get help dealing with problems so you’re not going to see many forum topics about something working exactly as expected.

    what a day yesterday was!

When you say "Drop Off the Cliff issue" is this something that's happening regularly? If so, what usually happens?

    Type 1 Libre sensor

Yeah, I went down this rabbit hole myself and found pretty much the same as what you found. My reasoning for going down that Rabbit Hole was I switched Doctors, and the Doctor asked me "How many Hypos have you had recently?" and I was like "Well, depends what you mean by Hypo." and he said "3.5...

How did your parents take the fact that their little child has diabetes?

My dad is very much a “numbers guy” so a lot of aspects of Diabetes Management came very naturally to him. He would follow guidelines but he wouldn’t simply do something cause he was told to. He’d give everything a chance to work but he’d modify things if they didn’t. He’d also challenge...
