Diagnosed this week - 21/7 - a shock to say the least ! wasn't feeling too good, but have been monitored re rise in blood sugars over the last few years - Im one of them, it wont happen ever - and blow me, results of fasting blood test reveal Im a type 2 diabetic!!!!
Feel abandoned by the doctors - was given a talk about it for half an hour allocated by the nurse then sent on my way, so Ive been to the library and got books on the subject for a little light reading.
My partner thinks im jumping the gun because ive gone and got books and bought a blood reading meter - took it back as im not sure I need it - advice please would be gratefully received !
Doctor has prescribed Metformin and diet - but wasn't offered nothing else - ooh the nurse gave me a booklet on diabetes - get on with it. I need answers to my questions its all new to me and daunting!
