Forxiga - anyone else on it?

I just started today on the advice of an endocrinologist I have been seeing as my sugars have been out of control. I currently take 42 units Humalog 50/50 in the morning, 40 at lunchtime and 40 in the evening plus 1000mg Metformin (was on double that but it really doesn't agree with me!). My...

    Victoza Injections

My mum has been on it for about a year. She's lost loads of weight and has halved her insulin. I know it made her feel really nauseous for the first couple of weeks as the dose was gradually increased but then that wore off. I'm seeing my doc in a couple of weeks. Currently on januvia in the...

Not doing good! Need encouragement & advice!!

Thanks for your replies - so good to have people to let off steam to! I have basically completely cut out potatoes, bread, rice and pasta. I dont eat breakfast usually but if I do it's maybe a fat free yoghurt (I know this has carbs but not loads). Lunch is generally a couple of boiled eggs...

Not doing good! Need encouragement & advice!!

I am 46 and was diagnosed T2 in June. I'm on metformin and lipitor. I could do with losing a stone but I am by no means obese. It came as no surprise - three of my four grandparents were diabetic and my mother and her brother are both insulin dependant diabetics so I didn't really stand much of...

    Conflicting advice

Hi all, I was diagnosed T2 in June 2011. I am taking 2 x slow release metformim (Glucophage) at night and a Lipitor for cholesterol. I was sent to see a diabetic nurse and dietician at my local hospital and received conflicting advice. The nurse told me to limit carbs as much as possible and...

Thanks for your answer, and your advice. Everything I eat seems to make me go higher than the recommended bg level at 2 hours after my meal! This morning my bg was 6.1. Had 2 slices of wholemeal toast, no butter, with some peanut butter on it. 2 hours later my bg level was 9.8! If this is the...
