I managed to get hold of re-usable echo pen (discontinued i think but stocks still left) from helpful D nurse, does half units and Lantus make cartridges for them. Changing by full units had too much effect on me.
I couldn't bear the pain so uSe the third phalange of the fingers instead of the tips- more meat there, and i tested and the results are the same at both location, and bottom of finger is less painful (most of the time). Worth a try.
