    Avocados

For me pre-bike ride this morning I mashed half an avocado, 4 eggs scrambled with butter, some spinach and salt over it. Honestly, hit the spot. No hunger pangs on the bike at all!

    Type 1: Worst hypo ever!

The lowest I've been is 1.4 ! I had been on a long cycle, made a quick lunch and had to walk into town to sort out cheques at the bank. SHOULDN'T have taken any bolus at all but I did...then started feeling off and bam 1.4. I just laughed because knew I was an idiot and wasn't thinking straight...

How much protein do you eat

I don't have any breakfast during the week and feel fine until lunchtime. Will have a tin of tuna/sardines with salad/low carb flax bread for lunch. Will try to have evening meal around 18:00 latest so I can catch any protein spike. Evening meal varies - but usually green veg/cauliflower rice...

    Low carb flax bread.

Has anyone found eating this bread makes them run to the toilet more frequently? I made two loaves yesterday and needed to use the toilet (urine) around 05:15 and 07:30. Thoughts?

    Cycling team

Type 1 has me made me run and cycle further than I've ever done before. I make it a competition with myself - how hard can I push myself, how will my glucose levels respond etc.

Type 1s: How is everyone keeping bloods under control?

Yes more or less the same for me. I don't have breakfast and usually a salad with some form of fish for lunch, then for dinner it's usually greens and chicken/pork/fish. I tend to find Sunday the hardest day because I take a break from all sport and easy to go overboard with carbs. I usually...

    Too sensitive to correct

Have you got a half unit pen? Definitely will give you better control and prevent you dropping quick.

Type 1s: How is everyone keeping bloods under control?

What is your daily carb intake then? I would run 22-30 miles a week and definitely staying active and reduced carbs has enabled my honeymoon to continue...

    LCHF diet and type1

Having a half-unit pen has made a massive difference to my control. Any meal post-exercise, 1 unit up front would send my dropping rapidly but 1/2 unit seems to be fitting the bill perfectly!
