    Metformin and Vitamin B12

    I have just read an American book by Julian Whitaker , Reversing Diabetes, in which a side effect of Metformin is interfering with the absorption of folic acid and vitamin B12 is mentioned. Can anyone shed any light on this as this is the first I have heard of it? texas ranger.
