I am half Spanish and half English. I have been diabetic for about 10 years and honestly, I don't mind it. In school me and my other diabetic friend would have fun and 'compete' at lunch to see who has a better blood sugar and although it took some time to get used to I'm quite happy with it now. Friends make 1000's of diabetes jokes and I love it, it's a part of who I am and although it's not a good thing to have I'm so pleased that I can have fun with it and make jokes.

I started by using a Novorapid pen and a Levemir pen in 2008 which I used for more or less 5 years and I moved on to the Accu-Chek Aviva insulin pump in 2013 until I upgraded to the Aviva Insight in October 2017. I have also sampled the FreeStyle Libre which was also in October 2017 and it's incredible how far we have reached with technology to treat diabetes.
