    Basal/Bolus

It’s ok to be high for a bit in the morning. Just bolus and breakfast as soon as you can. Stay safe at night as priority. Hugs and stress can kill faster than high sugar!!!

Basal requirement is different at different period of the month. Wear a cgm for at least a while to know your cycle better.

    Basal/Bolus

A basal of 9 keeps me flat at 6mmol throughout the night but when I wake up it goes up to 9 If i dose 10, I drop frequently in the night. To be safe, I dose 9. When I wake up in the morning, I bolus immediately. Best to be safe than to force a Low reading. You need to be alive as priority.

I have a continuous glucose monitor (cgm) which allows me to turn my brain into an artificial pancreas. It’s not unaffordable. Company says 50$ for 6 days but usually i stretch it to 12-15 days. Once for 23 days. It’s the Guardian connect. Do read up on it. It has changed my life completely...

Twice daily insulin & carb counting

Twice daily insulin & carb counting

Me me! I do one for breaky and one for lunch. Then zero carbs for rest of the day. Correction of 1-2 units now and then. No fear of hypo when sleeping. Of course there are days when I go out and succumb to carbs At night, but rarely.

Those on lchf, does your blanket smell different from before you started?

I'm equally shocked and fascinated to read the article. A few angles I'm coming from 1. My doc says my lantus is too high and I must be having hypo all the time at night. I couldn't be sure of that 2. I realized my blanket or comforter or duvet smells differently after I started being a type...

Those on lchf, does your blanket smell different from before you started?

I'm not sure if she isn't already doing it. She alerts me before I go full hypo. I've been wondering what she was smelling. Now I'm suspecting she's started to associate one smell that comes right before hypo smell. Wondering if this could be it.
