Hi, Katie! Welcome to the forums! Hope you get a lot of information here, I feel like it is a constant learning process for me.

    Accu Chek testing kit.

I check my sugar 3 a day, and I have a bunch of lancets given to me by my clinic. I switch them out once a week, so one box would last me over a year. I change my insulin pen tips when I switch to a new insulin pen. I wash my hands before I check my BS every time.

I don't know whether to laugh with you, cry with you, or be scared for you...... maybe some of each?

    Insulin Pens

No. I keep my mealtime insulin by my place at the dining room table, and I keep my long-lasting insulin by my bed, because I inject it right before I go to bed. Edited to add that I need to change my medications list on here - things are different since I've started posting here.

    Healthy takeaways?

I've found that I can do egg drop soup and a couple of shrimp rolls don't raise me to an unacceptable level. I can make a dinner-sized General Tso's chicken last at least 4 meals, and have a huge salad to go with it. Make the salad at home.

What app do you use and like best?

This brand (ReliOn) is made specifically for Wal-Mart, from what I can tell. I never see it at any of the other drug stores or pharmacies or "big box" stores.

What app do you use and like best?

Right now, I am using a ReliOn Premier, but I am thinking about switching to a ReliOn Platinum as it will like with MySugr, and I only pay $20 for 100 strips at Wal-Mart.

    Joint pain and insulin

I take a low dose of statins (Atorvostatin 10mg 1x daily) - pardon any misspellings - and use both Lantus and Humalog. I occasionally have joint pain, but I also have arthritis so I really couldn't say what is causing your joint pain.

    Best Basal

I have to agree with the previous two posters. I have only used Lantus, though.

    Smell

When I first started using insulin, I noticed it more as I used the vials and syringes. I use the flex pens now, and I don't notice it at all.
