Libre reads lower on right arm

Thanks Rachox, I knew about how sleeping on sensor can reduce reads dramatically after waking up one morning and finding my reads had tanked several times one night. The lower reads on my right arm happen throughout the day, not just at night when I’m sleeping. I get **** near normal fasting...

Diet controlled type2 Now have background Retinopathy

We come here for advice, encouragement and mainly support from others who've found themselves in he same boat. Sharing a fatalist view really is not very helpful when someone is feeling low. To Richard.I, I had the same sucker punch. Diagnosed early 2013, obsessive testing and low carbing...

    ha1c new result: 38 mmol/mol!

That's an outstanding effort in six months. How did you do it? Maintaining it is a long run game. I myself was diagnosed three years ago at 67mmol/mol and got down to 44 in three months, and 40 the following three months. Since then mine's hovered between 40 and 44 until my last check up (which...

    Can I re-use Lancets?

I reuse lancets for weeks. I have been doing this for the past year and have no infections in my fingers. Even the great Dr Bernstein says it's ok to reuse them. If it's good enough for him then I'm ok with it. I will change them about every 50 -100 strips.

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

5.3 this morning. A step in the right direction. I've not been monitoring and eating carefully and recently my morning reads have been 6.7 - 7.2. I've started taking care again and I'm glad to see my morning read respond accordingly. Whenever my reads start to climb I have a fear that I've...

Type 2 - Backsliding (and weird dream)

Yep. Need to get that original enthusiasm back. I like my legs and eyesight and want to keep them as long as I live. I fear for someone I know who is type 2 and calls herself "stumpy" already. She seems to take it for granted that she will one day lose her legs. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Type 2 - Backsliding (and weird dream)

I was diagnosed in January 2013 with an HbA1c of 67. I read as much as I could, followed advice from this forum, went super cautious right away. Stopped eating cereal, most wheat products, pastries, and most sweets and gave up my beloved lager. In three months I had it down to 44 and three...

What's your worse figure, and do you know why?

I had a similar reading with Rice Krispies just after I was diagnosed too. My highest reading was 15 then! Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

T2 diagnosed Jan 2013. Last HbA1c 5 August - 44 Though a pretty good result, I'm not happy as my last two bi-annual reads were 40. My weight has gone up by about 10lbs in eight months. My waking reads are also on the rise. I need to crack down on this now before I'm back up to 16.5 stone...

just had a binge (couldnt help myself)

Mini binge todAy - 300ml of yeo cherry yoghurt, 25g pack of ready salted crisps, flowed by large bowl of Kellogg's corn flakes with milk. The cereal at seem like a weird binge food, but before I was diagnosed I was a total cereal monster. Huge bowl for brekkies and sometimes a bowl for dinner...

    Slim in Six

I'm not following the diet plan that comes with it. I used the calculator on http://www.phlaunt.com/lowcarb/DietMakeupCalc.php to work out how much weight I wanted to lose. It works out how many calories a day you will need to reach your goal and your carb/fat/protein ratios. I input the...

    Slim in Six

Well it's been just over a month since I started the program. You get three progressive workouts: - Start It Up (35 minutes) - Ramp It Up (55 minutes) - Burn It Up (60 minutes) You're meant to to spend two weeks at each workout. Because I was so unfit to begin with I did Start It Up on...
