So you are continuing with low carb based on the above conspiracy theories and disregarding the study of over 400,000 people published in the Lancet? Hmmm
Did you also miss this study from a few days ago?

Certain meats eg beef and white fish are highly insulinogenic. Sean baker the carnivore MD, who I follow, has managed to attain diabetic levels of bg following a beef only diet also sky high LDL and an elderly woman's level of testosterone. Look it up
Your dietitian seems to be doing their job, informing you that low carb diets are not supported due to limited knowledge of how healthy they are in the med to long term. Also telling you eating no carbs is lowering your bg artificially. If you were truly in remission you could eat any amount...
No offense but that is complete historical and scientific nonsense. The thinest societies have the highest carb intakes eg Japan. I have just had this conversation with the fatemperor on twitter they have no science behind their stance. When scientist s and medical doctors refute their...
Please don't rely on medical advice from this forum it is replete with bro-science and wishful thinking. If you are going to go on a high fat diet the consequences for you will be higher ldl and higher hdl cholesterol this is indisputable. To get around this the high fat lobby will usually tell...
Just watching episode 3 where they explain all the science behind low carb diets masking the symptoms of diabetes and doing nothing about the underlying disease process which is, of course, obvious to many. This should be obvious but masking high blood sugar does nothing to decrease mortality.
Takeaway I get from that study:
This study looked at young healthy people (for a reason I would suggest) and was limited to 14 weeks.
"Methods: Thirty-eight healthy men and women [age 18–30 y, body mass index (in kg/m2) 18.5–29.9] participated in this 14-wk crossover intervention"
They looked...
That's right. They are suggesting that there is an upper limit of intake that is healthful related to how healthful the rest of your diet is but if you have underlying type2 diabetes it is a much lower intake for some unknown reason.
Here is some more research :)
These are high quality studies that show the same effect over and again (there never seems to be studies showing you need to severely limit broccoli or cauliflower to 1 a day to avoid negative consequences, quite telling I feel)...
Hi. I haven't got them to hand at the moment but they are in a drawer. From memory at diagnosis my total cholesterol was 8.5. vldl off the scale. triglycerides off the scale. I got results for my cholesterol 2days ago : total 4.8, hdl 1.02, ldl 2.85, trigs 2.11
I lost 30kg and had a bmi of 24...
People above who are suggesting increasing egg consumption would do well to understand that the science shows a worrying trend for type2 diabetics who go above "recommended" levels of consumption ie not that many. (1 per day?)

No long term studies show safety of high fat diets and they are well known to cause blood sludging and this can restrict flow to your periferal tissues.eg-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3igKW6bl3FE
It's possible you were correct in blaming your diet however the gp should be consulted.
That's great. Was your gp not impressed with that at all in any way? In 6 weeks if your'e off insulin he will be happy though. You need to find out if he's not happy because he thinks it's a quack diet or not happy as he thinks it's dangerous as you are on multiple meds? If it's the former he...
