I haven't been checking or managing my diabetes recently and this morning at 10am I did a test and it was 12 mmol/L.. After a cup of tea (no sugar) it was 17.4. I was surprised why just a cup of tea made it go that high. Anyway, I will keep monitoring and probably need to see the diabetic nurse.
A cheese and onion toastie using Edam cheese and red onions. Onions get my stomach working and always make me feel less nauseous. Sounds mad, but it works.
Diabetic neuropathy can cause muscle pain (or what appears as muscle pain but is in fact damaged nerves firing off pain signals). Damaged nerves can lead to muscle wasting too.
The effects are so varied with neuropathy. Numbness, over sensitivity, burning pain, sharp stabbing and cold feeling. I think when the nerves become damaged the signals to the brain are all over the place, a bit like phantom pain. It's worth nipping it in the bud now before they become more...
@Shari68 Please keep us updated. I am in a similar situation and just waiting for my break to heel, but also hopefully the pain to subside. It's such a dull dragging pain with me down to my elbow from shoulder along the humerus, but also sharp pain in shoulder if I move too quickly in certain...
As an aside, after almost burning the house down, I would always never leave a toaster unattended when on. I did once and one of the toasts stuck on ejection and the element remained on and toast set fire. The smoke alarm saved the day.
Have you had to give up alcohol on diabetes diagnosis, or maybe change what you drink. I enjoy a beer but they are packed with carbs. Also, it's not helping the Pancreas or Liver.
Interesting thanks. Haven't cut out cheese completely yet but I know I will pay the price if I'm tempted. I didn't buy any at the weekly shop today so will see how I cope. I'm in to black pitted olives at the moment. Used to hate them but now really like them.
I love cheese but I don't think my body can handle it like it used to. A couple of slices of cheese gives me a funny sensation like a mediate flush and if I eat it late at night I always seem to get a rapid heart rate later in the night. It's almost like it's too rich for my body to tolerate...
I think if you leave frozen shoulder for too long you end up needing Keyhole Capsular release surgery. There are videos on youtube on this. My consultant told me this the other day. I broke my humerus at the shoulder 5 weeks ago and asked him. He said I need physio in few weeks when the break...
