I'd split it. It won't do any harm but could make your blood a bit better. What about ringing a different diabetic clinic and explaining your nurse us away?

I was the same when I was put on insulin. I was misdiagnosed type two, but blood sugar was over twenty five for weeks. I was shattered when my blood dropped to normal levels. It's only six months later I can honestly say I feel better x

I've just finished my dafne course. The people there on levimir split the dose and took it twice a day because of these issues.
Also if you go too long without eating your liver produces some glucose so your blood sugar will rise.

I started a dafne course at my local hospital today and was given a True Result twist meter Its slightly bigger than the top of a test strip pot and fits on the top of one. I was so chuffed. It was like Christmas.

I had the same. They wouldn't supply them and gave me an acu true meter instead, which needs separate strips and a separate lancet. Its in the cupboard with my other useless meters and I am back to using my old contour
