Type 3c - how many are we?

Well not found to be diabetic until I had acute pancreatitis but a history of overweight and sleeping after meals or even snacks for as long as I can remember - given insulin after illness and been on it 17 years. Think I probably fit. Need to get my insulin further under control but it is...

    Type 1 and spa treatments

Didn't know any of this! But possibly explains why I felt desperately tired after my hot bath (extra hot with salts to relax leg muscles) It was mid evening so I just lay down and slept. Remember way back it going really low after a swim session - but could have been the sauna I guess. thanks folk.

    Worried about ketoacidosis

I found your above response helpful as an insulin user I don't aim to get my bloods below 6 as I can start to react by 5 so this worries me more than being a bit high but I can see that I need to make that gradual change. My HA1C averages around 8% which is high but they are not too unhappy as I...

    Tried this chocolate?.

My fave dark choc - cheap too is Dr Oetker Extra dark supposedly for cooking 27g carb per 100g that is just over 5 carbs for 4 pieces. supposedly helpful with BP too! That a a glass of red wine are my more or less daily treats.

T2s: What was your fasting BG this morning, and what did you eat yesterday?

Thank you Granny Grump - at the mo not yet a Granny at 74 but will be at 75 and so that and the fact that I have struggled with an injury for the past year has made me decide to get back on the keto wagon (never strayed far off it) but egg on toast was creeping in and one round was becoming 2...

Lantus to Levemir: in need of encouragement

I didn't know it could do that. I have both lantus and novarapid and I am feeling drowsy a lot of the time. I'm only taking 12ml at the moment - on a pretty strict keto diet. I use the novorapid if I go a bit high. think I will drop the lantus and rely on novarapid and see if it makes a difference.

High blood sugar after low GI breakfast

Cream has no carbs and fills you up add some berries and nibble a few nuts and you have a healthy sustaining breakfast. Butter cheese and cream are a diabetics friend and full of nutrients too. I often have a piece of cheese a small apple and some nuts too. I used to get confused about rising bs...

    Type 2 Alcohol

I have a red wine or two as my end of the day treat. I have it some time after my meal as the body prioritises the alcohol so I give it time to digest the food first. Last part of the day drink and easy viewing - sleep no problem - but beware the nibbles it makes you hungry.

    Cbd Oil

How much did you take - did you monitor your sugars? Not had any effect on mine so far. But keeping dose low and will build up as advised.

    Cbd Oil

I too am looking into this. There are a lot of restrictions on the companies and so they can't advise. The best I have found to date is Simply CBD they have a user support facebook group which I joined today. Their products have full descriptions which are much more helpful than most and they...

    Fasting between meals

I found detailed observation of diet bloods etc was helpful to help my control for a while but then just checks and observation when things go out of kilter or you want to lower your insulin if you have embarked on half diet

Type 2 and chronic fatigue syndrome

From my daughter's experience the factors which I believe caused ME were bullying primary school, a 'go until I drop' personality and then flu which almost immobilised her for 3 months, she missed 2/3 of her secondary educ. She in her 30's now stress/panic attacks followed her until recent...
