With exercising for me it notices the drop in levels in advance & it stops the insulin completely which seems to slow the rate it drops giving me enough time to top up if needed before it hits the lower levels. Much better than before when my drops were heavier & less time to treat. Although I’m...
I have started the Medtronic 780G with guardian 4 sensors 2 weeks ago. My in range % has improved significantly already. Absolutely love it. Less stress & worry. The tape to put the sensor on can get tricky but if you want tight control, this is definitely the one.
So 18 months later…
The Maculopathy completely cleared up so I didn’t need any treatment at all as it was very mild. I got discharged not long after & everything is now perfectly normal.
The pain however seems to be nerve damage, something that was very scary & confusing at the time as it...
Hi,
Been on levemir for over 10 years now & recently switched over to Basaglar last week but only having 1 dose of this. I hadn’t even heard of this insulin until now. I believe it’s similar to how Lantus works but I just want to see how others find it using this one & how does it compare to...
Not had any of these for years but when I do eat them it’s 1 or 2 but that’s because of what else is in them. Can’t see it affecting sugar levels surely but not sure what a full box would do to the system.
Thanks for the advice. I think it’s easy to go in to panic mode when you see it rising above what it should be but like you said , wait long enough and it will return back to normal. It’s much harder to bring down to normal levels though if you mis calculate it & it’s at high levels.
I feel your pain, I found the standard finger prick testing impossible to keep on top of & this should be standard for all type 1. Better late than never to improve though!
Interesting. Seems i have hit complications also from rollercoaster effect readings so flattening the line is crucial right now it might even be too late. Doing it too quickly is my worry but I seem to be going in the right direction. It’s hard to know if your doing it too quickly when i only...
I went to my GP over the pain & they can’t really do anything other than refer me to the eye clinic which is currently a very long wait for GP referrals & even then will I get to see an ophthalmologist or will it just be an OCT scan like i have just had? My next appointment will be in 3/4 months...
I got background after around 8 years. Iv never had problems until now the pain is only recent & is only in 1 eye & has come at the same time as getting a hospital referral for the minor leak so I don’t think it’s a coincidence. The eye clinic at the hospital is under so much pressure at the...
A little update. So I didn’t see an actual ophthalmologist as the NHS are under a lot of pressure at the moment. I did have however, an OCT scan which then an ophthalmologist looked at & confirmed mild Maculopathy but they don’t think treatment is needed at the moment so they will continue to...
My check ups are at the hospital rather than the surveillance clinic. I think they have referred it on to hospital although everything seems very slow at the moment. I guess they just monitor it.
What have you done to change? I think being given a finger prick kit as a teenager being expected to keep it within range for the whole of my 20s is pretty much impossible so it’s not surprising to hit problems now. Newly diagnosed people now get pumps & CGMs which changes everything imo.
