I've just done the after bloods after my evening meal and I think I understand now. It was 6.8 before and 7.3 after. Thank you everyone for your input. It all makes sense now. I just need to tackle my love of bread and potatoes and replace them with something else
Thank you everyone for your help today. I've bought a monitor and tried it out at lunch. I was 6.8 before then 10.5 after. I know what carbs I had so have reduced them for my evening meal. Hopefully my after meal test will be better. I now have a better idea of what I'm doing.
I suspected that was the case as I have checked into it and it is expensive. But because she hasn't gone through it with me I'm not sure when or how often I need to do it
Unfortunately I'm unable to check my bloods as my diabetic nurse has told me not to do it. I am confused by this as most of the diabetic people I know all check their blood. Maybe I should ignore her and get a monitor myself.
Not sure as I'm a bit of a fussy eater to add to the problem. The only time I've had avocado is guacamole and I liked that but I don't like olives however I see what you mean about fat that isn't saturated. I'll check the link you sent. I've had a look before but didn't have time to study it...

It is the saturated fats I struggle with. My problem is my bile system isn't working properly and therefore my liver isn't able to process toxins properly. And saturated fat is the worst offender
