My hba1c is between five and seven & I have structured my diet around five to seven little meals a day, restricting carbs & going heavy on vegetables. I eat omega rich seeds...

    What you think

Diabetes T2 was for me a wake-up call from my body to get healthy. Okay, I can't have my favorite sweets - treacle toffee - and that hurts. But learning about living with this thing has taught me restraint : to eat healthily and exercise regularly. I have just come back from my most sucessful...

The sun is shining, I'm waiting for my new washing machine to arrive, which is a matter of urgency since I am running out of pants. BUT - I'm off on holiday at the end of the month. I'm off to Dartmoor for the walking. Where are you going? Where would you go if you could?

My thought is than whenever a barbeque is mentioned, men don aprons. Perhaps we can convert our kitchens to barbeque rooms and get the men to cook more often? Just joking. My other half cooks a mean steak. There are no calories in herbs and spices. Bring on the ginger and chillies. Don't...

feet - what do you do?

Diabetics get free podiatry. Get your GP to refer you. I also treat my feet to emollient cream nightly and check them every time I change shoes. Regard sandals as the work of the Devil. Good socks are essential. Spending £15 on a pair may seem extravagant, but I'd rather be a little poorer...

any1 got type1 diabetes and drinks alcohol?

Drinkies! My mate Steve, who has retired, blast him, is a T1 and he LOVES his scotch - mostly single malt. He ealso drinks red wine and lager - usually he drinks with meals. Since he is a Parks ranger in the Peak District, I suppose he walks most of it off. We go out regularly, and we all...
