Wolfhound

23rd January 2018. I have now been on a no carb diet for 6 weeks. I have managed to reduce my insulin by 50%, stopped taking statins. The first 3 weeks was difficult with frequent highs and lows of blood sugars, but the last 2 weeks my BG's have stabilised between 5 and 6. I have lost around 6kg and hopefully I will loose a lot more. I have a wonderful dietician who is giving me wonderful guidance and encouragement.
I am tomorrow setting off to sail a tall ship in the South Atlantic which entails watches in the night and probably difficulties in having 3 hearty meals a day! Thankfully there is a doctor and medical purser on board so should get plenty of encouragement from them.
