I had this about 20 years ago. Saw a dermatologist whos only solution was make up to cover the red patches. Thankfully it disappeared with time so I would not worry about it.

Who knows how things would have turned out, I may have had children if my consultant had now warned me of the difficulties of pregnancy. I would certainly not be partially sighted due to retinopathy & would probably still be working.

I have been having similar problems & have been prescribed Metaformin in addition to insulin. It has don wonders for my blood sugar although there are a few other side effects that are not so pleasant.
