Hey all,
I have been on insulin for nearly 2 months now. For the second time today my skin has come up in a painful red bump after I inject. Is this normal? I am rotating my injection sights.

hi @Cashers12
welcome to the forum :)

with it being the second time today - am assuming this is your fast acting insulin ( novorapid or humalog)
are you changing the needle for every injection ?

sometimes we can get a reaction at the injection point -- if it continues for a few more injections it would be best for you to get in touch with your DSN ( diabetic specialist nurse) to discuss options.

do keep posting to let us know you get on

all the best !!

Thanks for your reply. Sorry it's levemir that's done it. Definitely changing the needle. Will get in touch with someone tomorrow if it continues. Thank you!

hi
copied from a website comparing lantus and levemir ( both long acting insulins )

The acidic nature of Lantus can sometimes cause stinging at the injection site, and both formulas cause allergic reactions in rare cases. ( meaning levemir)

hope this helps
