I am just off on a holiday where it will be about 70-75 F. Apart from a two piece swimming costume has anyone tips for the pump whilst just sitting round the pool?

Hi,

I went on a watersports based holiday last year somewhere very hot :D and was so worried about pump that I almost reverted to injections for the two weeks.

However I am glad I didn't because it wasn't a problem.

I wore my pump but always kept it covered with a sarong or towel when lying in the sun. When swimming I just checked blood sugar beforehand and disconnected. I found I could stay disconnected for up to two hours without problem, and just gave missing basal or correction
when reconnecting.

I purchased a frio case for pump but found it too bulky to wear on belt, but great for putting pump in when not connected. Heat didn't seem to have any detrimental effect on insulin.
Also used skin tac wipes when putting new set in as found they got a bit loose otherwise because of all the immersion in water.

Have a great holiday
