High blood sugars with simple earache

Hi,
I am on Novorapid and Levemir, over the last 4 weeks I have managed to finally get good control with levels in the 4-7 range.On Monday I woke up with earache, not really bad just irritating but my levels have gone up into the teens, II'm not sure if I should increase my insulin, common sense says I should but I'm a bit scared.Thought I would see what I was like for rest of this week then go Doctors on Monday if no bette,I feel a bit silly going for something as trivial as earache lol Any suggestions about the insulin? Sorry i can't help with the insulin as i'm on a mixed insulin.

Perhaps you have a ear infection though. Infection often puts your blood sugars up. I would try and see your Dr if i was you or one of the practice nurses. You may need anti-biotics.

Thanks Claire, I think thats probably the best thing really just in case its an infection
