Hi I have recently been diagnosed T2 my fasting glucose test was 15.1, I had an hba1c done and about a week later (today) the hba1c came back at 6.0. I have been told I don't need any medication,apart from simvastatin 40mg, but need to control my "diabetes"through diet. What I'm confused about is am I T2 with my 1st hb1ac of 6.0?. And just to add I have had the following symptoms - light headedness, feeling woozy, tingling finger tips, dry skin, dry mouth. :?
 
I'm wondering if perhaps you are not a diabetic at all, but rather have (or had) some condition that drove your blood sugar up temporarily. You should quiz your doctor about that, because those numbers are very suspicious. You want to make sure you have the right diagnosis. I'm not familiar with simvastatin.
