My period is becoming a nightmare for me. Aside from the fact that as I age PMS is becoming worse, so is my diabetes control the week before.

Historically my blood glucose has gone up or down a wee bit the week before but recently my insulin resistance the week before is off the charts. I've spent most of the days taking at least twice as much nova rapid and still chasing the tail end of the high blood glucose with very few carbs.

Lower carb does help but not by much.

Please tell me there are other ladies who experience this?

Thankfully those days are behind me, but yes I always had this problem the week before, which got worse as I got older, and am aware of other people who have the same same issue. Sending hugs, as it's a real pain.

Yep I become more insulin resistant before starting my period each month. It’s the pesky hormones! I chatted to my specialist nurse and she suggested upping my background insulin by 20% to start with then back to usual amount once fee days in and numbers level out again.
I tried the pill for 2 months for something I else and stopped as I had the worst hba1c result in the past 4 years. I couldn’t stay anywhere near in range. It can be so frustrating how much it can effect it.
So please don’t worry you aren’t alone with this!
