My daughter has just been diagnosed with GD in her last trimester, baby due in early March. She's asked me for advice on low carb eating as I have T2 and manage my levels with a low carb diet. She lives in the middle east and has superb health care but wouldn't know if they are up to speed with low carb advice. She's yet to see a dietician but has been advised by her Dr to eat a diet that is low carb and eat little and often and if her levels don't come down she will go on metaformin, which she doesn't want to do. She has a dairy and soya intolerance too. Any advice would be great. Many thanks.

Hi, I followed a low carb diet with gd and was able to keep bgl in good order.
I would suggest nuts, vegetables and berries.
Be careful with the low carb recipes online as most if them weren't low carb but last I was this site does loads of low carb recipes that could really help her.
