I am T2 and I have recently been diagnosed with a stomach and peretoneal cancer and have a stent fitted in my duodenum . My dietician has told me to make sure I get sufficient nutrients, i.e., carbs fats protein etc as my eating habits have obviously been compromised, when I asked about my BG levels I was told I had other things to consider as well as I need to have good reserves as I start a rigorous chemo treatment in 2 weeks . I am restricted on what I can ear at the moment a lot of veg is off the menu , breads ect meats to avoid blocking the stent but fish and chicken soups potato's are good as are soft foods pudding ice cream ect and of course food supplements which are hi carb , fat and sugars ..it looks like I don't have a lot off choice , but to take a gamble ...

Sorry to hear of your cancer diagnosis @ukmartian, sometimes we just have to accept that we have to look at things holistically and diabetes has to take a back seat. It seems that the important thing is treat at the moment is your cancer. Maybe if your numbers start to rise and it begins to worry you, you could speak to your team about maybe introducing or altering your diabetic meds.

I wish you well
