I am not allergic to dairy, but dairy use raises my blood sugar.
For the last two weeks l have been using Chobani Zero sugar Greek yogurt. Surprisingly, using this yogurt doesn't have any impact on my blood sugar. It is sweet and I'm not sure what kind of sweetener they use. I am in California, I am not sure if this product is available in the UK. I wonder if someone has use this product, and if there are other health issues for using this yogurt. Thanks for the help.

Great to hear @Omar51 .
I’m lucky, most regular dairy doesnt seem to raise my blood sugars, with the exception of lactose free milk, which contains more carbs for some reason.
Looking at your opening post, nobody responded, presumably because Chobani is not available outside of the US. It’s not available in Canada either.

Great to hear from you as well, @Melgar. Thanks for the reply and for letting me know that Chobani isn’t available outside the USA. I’m also glad to hear that dairy products don’t spike your blood sugar.

Hi @Omar51
I've had many trips to USA and always found the yoghurts to be very sweet and not natural tasting, and that was before I refined my own diet!
. The ones we can get here in the UK are thicker and smoother with a subtle tang, especially those marketed as Greek or Greek style

It's actually very easy to make your own yoghurt using a starter from Amazon and a Thermos type container and a suitable thermometer. @shelley262 has it off to a tee.

Hi @shelley262,

Thank you for your response and for sharing the helpful information. You’re absolutely right — yogurt is a huge industry in the U.S., and the sweet “fruit-on-the-bottom” varieties aren’t the best choice for people with diabetes.

I grew up making fresh yogurt at home without preservatives, and many Asian countries still continue that tradition. I’ve completely cut out dairy products now, and I feel really good about that decision.
