This is not supposed to happen on Metformin alone.

Why not have a little something to treat a possible hypo if you have symptoms and your sensor says you're on the low side as well - instead of eating hours before the possible lowish BG happens?

Do you know what your latest hba1c was?
You only mention numbers within and on the low side of the normal range, do you ever hit highish numbers on your Libre?
Thanks for your continued interest. To answer your questions: The first time it happened was midnight, as I was going to bed, and I did as you suggest. I had a swig of maple syrup  . The other times were when I was asleep, and although it sometimes woke me up, not well enough to actually get up, and when I did get up, my BG began to rise anyway. Then once was just before dinner, so I can more carbs than usual.

When I'd got my BG under control, it rarely went very high unless I had a large carby meal or binged on crisps, etc. In hospital and after, it became more erratic, at times up to 14 or even higher without the carby cause. It's coming back under control lately, but I had no lows until these past two weeks, then 7 just this week alone. I'm beginning to wonder if it has to do the the magnesium supplements I started to take, as my sleep was very poor. It's better now, less insomnia and waking at night. Can the deep sleep be causing it?

My last A1c was in March and it was 50. Again, thanks.
