What to do with used pumps and syringes on holiday

I’m going away soon for a week and later for a month. Any suggestions as to how I can store all the used sharps, Omnipod [emoji6]s and the Dexcom [emoji6] insertion thing so I can bring everything safely back home?

Hi, I’m in Spain now & have been for 2 weeks. I’m using Omnipod 5 & have just been unscrewing the injection needle back to its original form & and putting it back in the pack together with the old pump. When I’ve changed each time I just repeat the process. I’m on the Dexcom g7 (which is rubbish by the way but that’s another conversation) & have just been putting them in the bin in the room together with the applicator. Hope this helps

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I had thought I could just jettison the Dexcom applicator because it’s so bulky and perhaps put the Omnipod and syringe in a padded envelope. Why don’t you like the G[emoji[emoji6]]? I tried it for [emoji[emoji6][emoji6]] days as part of a trial I was participating in and it seemed ok. I prefer the size of the Libre but I was always knocking it off my arm.

I keep the pods (for recycling) and the needle (sharp), and throw everything else away. (syringe too - there's nothing in there preventing it going in normal waste).

This ends up significantly smaller than the original. I've done this on ski and bike tours carrying everything - ie a situation where weight and volume are very important.

Thanks for your advice. I’ll see how I get on- as you rightly say, there’s not much waste at the end of it to bring home.
