Diabetic Neuropathy In Fingers

Hello everyone
I am presently on background insulin slow moving, with 6 diabetes pills as well. My morning sugars have come down. Recently I have neuropathy in my fingers, really painful, tingling, it comes when I overuse my hands. I bought neuropathy cream, it eases it but not for long. I tried a mini tens machine that I have for back pain, it eased it, but the minute I do my chores etc its back again, I have gloves too but in this severe heat I can't wear them. I would appreciate any tips, advice etc. Thanks so much in advance.

Hi @norm62, I was really surprised when I bought electric hand warmers to heat up my gloves they helped relive the painful tingling you describe. I just bought them to keep my hands warm did not expect them to help with neuropathy pain.

I bought a set of hand warmers I could wrap my toes around I also use them as a form of Reki massage to put some heat back into them and alleviate the tingling / ants crawling over my skin /stabbing pins and needles effect of neuropathy.

For me apart from all the other aspects of neuropathy its the feeling of cold in my hands and feet that is transmitted as pain back to my brain that I am always looking to alleviate.

Thankfully its the middle of summer in a record braking heat wave, Yeah.
Alas I live in Scotland it's 15C here today.

If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all.

I must admit having only been recently diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy and being in hospital during that time (my neuropathy isn’t caused by diabetes) I’ve only been given medical treatments rather than non medical buy it online kinda thing. I have a mixture of Gabapentin (has to be prescribed by a medical professional) and Lidocaine patches, I have the 5% strength which you can only get on prescription but you can get 4% strength over the counter.
