Discovering cappuccino treat is my downfall!

Although I had long suspected a large cafe cappuccino was the culprit resulting in me having to dash to the loo long before I got ‘severe pancreatic deficiency and atrophied pancreas’ results it’s only recently I am proving it! I have numerous other conditions like dysautonomia from Long Covid that might have caused the dash and pre or full syncope after eating a weekly small meal out, mostly with a proper cappuccino, but now I have been taking Creon for 3 weeks I have been ‘mapping’ which foodstuffs are still too fatty for the 3-4 25,000 pills. ChatGPT says it’s the fact that the full fat milk, which is normally a 12-15g portion of fat, is hot and behaves in a completely different way…I can’t help thinking hot lava flowing behind every rock of food in the gut! I had been very good and had the first Creon with cold water yesterday before starting to slowly drink the coffee, admittedly with 3/4 M&S toasted emmantal and mushroom sandwich with another 3 Creons…and had to go off to close loo half way through. My cappuccino at a cafe is my treat, if I drink it at home it’s low fat milk and decaff.coffee beans…anyone had same problem and solved it; it is rare I eat toasted cheese sandwiches so I could loose them, but I don’t really want to just drink tea out?

Hi @Cumbrianjudith There are plenty of places that will make you a low fat cappuccino if you want to have one as a treat when your out. You mention this is a social meal out situation, perhaps all you need is a change of venue to get a low fat cappuccino.

We all understand how frustrating it is to have to give up something innocuous due to our condition, I miss a biscuit more than any thing else more than chocolate, cakes ice-cream ect.. its natural to try and exhaust every option before doing so.
But sometimes it has to be done. :meh:
:bag:

Hi @Cumbrianjudith ,

Sorry you’re having an adverse reaction to cappuccino on what should be a relaxing time out.
Be wary of what AI can generate as “information.”

Sometimes just removing a suspect on the list that was consumed by process of elimination is the only way to find out what caused the reaction.?

Best wishes..

Yes! I almost never drink coffee or tea with milk in it, but one day, in Germany, I was visiting Lidl and had a coupon for one of those chilled cappucino-type drinks they do, and as I quite like iced coffee, I was thirsty, and it was free, I got it. And oh dear, I did regret it! Never again!
