Smart watch with omnipod 5 freestyle Libre +2

I'm using the omnipod 5 pump with the freestyle Libre + 2 and want to get a smart watch that works well. Can anyone recommend a good smart watch that works well with these devices?

I'm guessing that there's a lack of answers because this is hard. Libre can only send automatic readings to one device, and that will be the omnipod. And Omnipod won't talk to anything.

Yes, this isn't great. And the makers of Omnipod seem to have no interest in improving their software to make things like this possible, or indeed listening to their end users at all. No smart watch support isn't top of my list, but it's quite high.

Gripe 2 : Why can't we have the current reading available on the lock screen of the device without needing a PIN? (means you need to take gloves off to see, and is hard in wet conditions).

Gripe 3 : Why isn't the device backed up? If you lose it or it dies, you need to start from scratch with a new one, and all the learning it's done over the past months is gone.

Gripe 4 : Activity mode is useless. Can we have pause support in auto mode to save about a million button presses?

Gripe 4a : Can we turn automatic mode back on from pause in one go, rather than having to unpause then switch?

Gripe 5 : Can we have a smaller device? (which is of course related to the starting point of this conversation)

Any others?

(maybe back to the old days of one of the devices which sat on top of the libre, read NFC and broadcast to phone on bluetooth to xdrip+?)

And an omnipod 5 pump? What app is the mobile using?

The Libre 2 plus App works perfectly everytime.
I know both the watch & mobile are classed as old now but they work for me so I stay with them as my husband used to say IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT that so true this.
Hope helps you.

@Tiggy63# the question here is which watch works with the omnipod 5 pump. Are you using a pump with your setup?

I think that Libre app is fairly easy to download on most smart watches. The problem, as far as I know, is accessing the app for the Omnipod. When I was choosing which HCL pump to have was shown a huge mobile that the hospital had had to pre-load with hard-to-access Omnipod app. It’s what made me choose a different pump even though I initially didn’t want a tubed one.
Maybe your diabetes team know how to get hold of the app and which devices it can be used on? Try them.

In the 'old' days I used a Miaomiao (sat on top of the Libre 1 and 2) which created its own BT signal, and picked that up using xDrip for display on a watch.

That stopped with Libre 2+ as it only transmits BT signals (no NFC) so couldn't be hijacked the same way.

There may be alternatives to display the BG on a smartwatch now - I'm not aware of any though but might be worth a search on some of the open source forums (xDrip, Juggluco) - have a feeling it might be locked down.

Update - it might be possible...

Have a look here:

Hi,

Are you using an IOS or Android device?

There’s a thread on the Type One section that’s talking about a similar subject. Worth a look.
