A banana and a couple of RyVita for breakfast, plus some tea and some water.

2nd meal should be some kind of vegetable bake. Not sure what protein to put in it. I had cheese for my 2nd meal yuesterday, melted over vegetables, and felt pretty sick afterwards. Cheddar doesn't usually do that to me, but maybe it was just the combination. I shan't be using cheese today though, to stay on the safe side.

Porridge for breakfast, omelette for lunch with a thin slice of home made bread, and I keep changing my mind about tea - I think maybe fish fingers with vegetables from the garden or (yet again!) chicken.

I have been sneezing and had a bit of a runny nose with blocked ears today. I don't feel ill at the moment, but the great energy I had yesterday is gone sadly, so I didn't cut the rest of the grass. I'm not too upset, the parts I see from my windows look better for now :hilarious:

Decided to put some haricot beans with a tin of tomatoes and some onion and broccoli together with the last of that pack of frozen chips as a "crust". The chips should be resistant starch, but there's a fair amount in the dish, so it will probably do for 2 days.

@shelley262 Hope you enjoy your holiday as much as we did ours, except for that awful day, of course!

Another bad day for me - I was walking home from Church with the sun in my eyes and I simply didn't see a bollard in the middle of the pavement, and did a spectacular somersault over it. Wasn't badly hurt, thankfully, but have wrenched my back slightly. Which hurts!

Breakfast was a poached egg on baked beans on toast, orange juice and coffee. Lunch was clean-the-fridge soup, a cold sausage, a slice of sourdough bread and butter, and an ice lolly. Supper was steak with steamed potatoes, cauliflower and peas, followed by fromage frais with strawberry compote. And I think I'm going to have a few nuts-and-berries now.

Breakfast: overnight oats with some chopped up strawberries (quite tasteless actually). Tea.
2nd meal will be the rest of the baked vegetables and beans from yesterday.

Not feeling quite so grotty today, but still very tired. I'm finding that, with these weight/glucose reduction pills, my stomach gets very sore and I feel horribly bloated if I go for a long period with no food (who moved all those keys to the wrong place on my keyboard?) so I have to have a snack halfway between breakfast and my 2nd meal. I'm sure the idea is to eat less, not more, but other than that, the pills seem to be working.

Deep Heat is miraculous! Used a patch in bed last night, and this morning smeared the cream all over my back, and it is massively better. I did sleep most of the afternoon and was very stiff when I got up to get supper, but when I go to bed I'll anoint my back again. Mind you, when I went out, my back was okay, but walking seemed to give me a headache.

Breakfast was overnight oats with banana, pear, kefir and nuts-in-honey; lunch was a Currywurst with a slice of buttered seeded sourdough, olives and marinated peppers, followed by ice-cream; supper was a vegetable bake which didn't work, but was okay, followed by a coffee cream dessert pot.

According to our local pharmacist, diabetics should be very careful with products like 'Deep Heat'. He advised me not to use it (I gather he thinks I wouldn't feel if my back or knees were burning). I hope it works well for you.

I would have given you a hug for that pain, but you sounded as though you were reasonably comfortable, and your meal sounded good, even if the veg bake was a disappointment, so I made it a like instead.

@Mrs Redboots I'm glad you are doing ok!

I forgot to post yesterday's food - I had porridge for breakfast, cottage cheese with salad for lunch and pork and mushroom in thai curry sauce with runner beans for tea.

Today it's porridge for breakfast, cheese salad for lunch and more of the pork and mushroom for tea.

Thing is, I ought not to use Voltarol gel because of being on blood thinners, although they are very mild blood thinners these days. I hadn't heard we shouldn't use Deep Heat - I don't, very often, but it was very necessary yesterday, although I didn't use it today (yet!). Still very sleepy and disinclined to do much; tai chi class tomorrow should sort things, though. And I think it's the first time our instructor will be back after a serious operation, so it should be excellent!

So today's breakfast was porridge, which was a bit of a failure as (a) I forgot to put the chia seeds on to soak for 20 minutes so had to leave them out and (b) decided to put some frozen blueberries in there. Which was a Big Mistake as, of course, they made the porridge far too runny, and even putting it back in the microwave for a further 2 minutes didn't really sort it. Also had a banana in there, and some nuts-in-honey. And fruit juice and coffee.

Lunch was vegetable soup, and a slice of buttered seeded sourdough with Bavarian sausage (I didn't miss most of Alpine Week in Lidl - still plenty of my favourite goodies left!) and French cheese! Also a couple of olives and some marinated peppers. Followed by a mini ice-lolly.

Supper was fresh filled pasta with a home-made fresh tomato sauce, topped with Parmesan, followed by the last of the fromage blanc and of the raspberry compote. And finished with a square of dark almond chocolate. Yummy!

As far as I know, this is a blanket disclaimer because some diabetics have sensory loss because of nerve damage.
This is a serious risk with anything heat involved, imagine drawing a bath and only noticing it's blistering hot after you get in up to your knees. Damage will have been done to your feet in that case.

I have no idea what Deep Heat is, but I do know about the blanket disclaimer. Buy a pumace stone for calluses and the package will say not to use when diabetic.

Overnight oats again for breakfast with some rather tasteless strawberries. Tea.
Lunchtime: 2 Jacobs crackers with Boursin cheese. Water.
2nd meal: Defrosted mashed potato with a lot of grated cheese and some crispy fried onions, topped with tinned butter beans in tomato sauce.

More trouble with computers. I hate them! Can't do without them, but I hate them!
