Hi Everyone! I need some advice please regarding using fiasp in my pump my readings are 70% in range. I have such bad health anxiety and I have been constantly on the ball with my checking my readings etc for some reason I’m having trouble with them going high then plummeting low, or the the other way round they will plummet low straight away and then later on be high?

I have a feeling my settings need changing as I don’t think I need as much insulin as I used to with my pen. I noticed if I had a sandwich that was 40g or so if I put in 2 they stay perfectly in range, I’ve also seen if I pre bolus they tend to go low so I tried doing in whilst I’m eating or straight after I’ve eaten and then they go high! What am I doing wrong?! I also was pre bolused this morning for food that I had and the pump calculations told me to I in 4.6 < I knew this was too high so I only put in 1.5 but then plummeted low!! my ratio is set to 1:10 my correction factor is 2.4, I’m so confused!

How long have you been using the omnipod? It takes a few sensors to learn how your body behaves. You may have to manually correct in the meantime more than normal - so small doses or pausing for a while (or having a bonus biscuit :-) ) depending on which way things are going.

It's fairly normal to need less insulin with the pump.

Maybe stick to just bolusing for the food, and not thinking about correction factor for a bit? Let the pump work that part out.

Other things of course affect your insulin needs - exercise, illness, stress, almost anything :-) Exercise is the big one for me, and it's more than the immediate effect, it brings insulin requirements down for a couple of days for me.
