Hi everyone, My name is Sam I'm new to this site and I'm just after a bit of advise really. My hubby was diagnosed with type 2 at 23 and for a while was diet controlled and then eventually was put on metformin and glicaside sorry dont know if that is the right spelling. Anyway he started on insulin about 7 years ago. He is now 45 and docs are saying he is now type 1.
Anyway since being on insulin sometimes he can have what seems to be an epileptic fit (he isnt epileptic) and it always seems to happen after meals like within 5 mins of eating. Sometimes it csn be 3 a month and then he can sometimes go a few months without one. I know this is diabetes related because its not always happened. But I hate it when it does happen. It can take him 30 mins or more to come round and I usually give him a milky drink tho not sure if thats the right thing to do.
Does this happen to anyone else. Its just that he says he doesn't feel his sugars are low before it happens and if he has low sugars in the night he realuses and ears something and is fine.
This only happens after eating meals. Is this normal? Thank you.
