i have just bought myself a Kenwood Smoothies2Go smoothie maker and it is very easy. Have only up to now used a few raspberries, small banana and some unsweetened almond milk. However, one of my friends has said that they are bad if you are diabetic as the natural sugar is high! I do not tend to eat much in way of fruit normally, and I do not really drink much apart from tea so I thought it would be good for me to have fruit in liquid form! Especially as find most fruit juices too acidy on own.
So now am wondering whether it was a bad idea?

If it is a good idea, what combinations have folk found to be good in making a smoothie?

The problem with turning fruit into a smoothie is that it acts a lot quicker so the sugar gets into your bloodstream faster.

I don't know if you are type 1 or 2 but with type 1 it means the insulin can't work quick enough to counter act it.

I only ever use liquids for hypos.
