What snacks to eat at night with tea ??

Hi I've been recently diagnosed with diabetes type 1 . I've always loved sweets an chocolate. Anybody got any ideas on what I could eat ? . That I'm allowed??

Well there are some low carb recipies on this site have a route around, no ordinary ones as they full of sugar

Hi Johnny, welcome to the forum,the fountain of knowledge and support. There are some recipes on line for biscuits made using almond flour and sugar substitute. You could always add carob chips to try to replicate low carb` versions of choc chip cookies. Not ideal I appreciate, but not too bad when craving a cuppa and a biscuit. Sorry I can`t help further, if you make your tea and biscuit your mid meal snack you might get away with normal biscuits, the carbohydrate values are usually on the packet. all the best Dave.

My snacks are:
1. nice slice of ham wrapped around a spoonful of philladelphia
2. I get a little plate and arrange on it a few little things like 3 or 4 walnuts, 1 or 2 cherries, cubes of cheese, celery - like a mini ploughmans
3. maybe a nairns oatcake with cheese or humous if it doesn't spike you

Hi Dave thank you . I Hav been havin digestive biscuits wit tea . And a few walnuts as they are very good for u
