Pretty much the same! Not that unwell just having to deal with the Diabetes side of things. My ketones are back down to 0.2 for now

    Covid

I think mines caused from not eating much in the past few days and probably not taking extra insulin even though my sugars aren't that high

    Covid

Well little worrying update. My ketone level is at 1.5 but my blood sugar's are at 10. Is this normal during having an illness? Calling 111 now as this is slightly worrying

    Covid

Hello this has probably been mentioned many times as it's worrying to read online about Diabetes and Covid. I am 23 years old and have had Diabetes for 10 years. My last hca1 was 53 in UK terms. Am I at severe risk? Also I have had symtoms for about 5 days but the PCR tests have only just picked...

    Dvla Section 88 (UK)

Next update. For now the doctor sais he will agree a section 88 as long as I don't drive at night for now. Getting somewhere but it still isn't in line with the guidelines. Going to contact the DVLA tomorrow and see what they say about it.

    Dvla Section 88 (UK)

Thank you all for your messages. Slight update. The DVLA which to be fair after the long wait were rather helpful said as he's clearly not following the guidelines which are set by themselves and the government I should request a new Diabetes Doctor. I have a call with again with the doctor...

    Dvla Section 88 (UK)

It's my actual Diabetes consultant which is confusing. The official government website sais itself night time hypos are irrelevant https://www.gov.uk/guidance/diabetes-mellitus-assessing-fitness-to-drive#insulin-treated-diabetes. Very worrying situation to be in as I need to drive for work. And...

    Dvla Section 88 (UK)

Hiya Just to make this short and simple the DVLA are very slow at the moment processing my 3 year restricted licence. My license has run out and so I am now running or was running on section 88. My doctor said he is unsure that I am fit to drive on the basis I have night time hypos even though...

    Crazy blood sugar's and cough

Oh wow I hope everyone Is doing okay! Crazy how different Covid effects us all differently. The first week I was very unwell which was the 8th of November. Since then just an annoying cough and sudden moments of exhaustion. The doctor said it's most likely a virus so can't do much apart from...

    Crazy blood sugar's and cough

With the glucose levels yeah I usually test aswell as like you say it can overestimate sometimes. I've tried to contact with my Diabetes team but it's hard to get through at the moment. I'm going to increase my lantus a little tonight see what that does until my sugars become abit more normal...

    Crazy blood sugar's and cough

This cough is not Covid related but rather this "Super Cold" everyone seems to be getting. I have been ill with it for 3 weeks now and my sugars are flying up and down so hard to correct highs. Usually I'm unwell my sugars tend to go slightly higher but nothing like this. Has anyone else had...

    Constantly worried about future complications

No I get what you're saying, I'm sorry to hear that, it's a very hard condition to live with at times and only people who have it can properly understand. There is a lot of Retinopathy treatment out there thankfully.

    Constantly worried about future complications

Thank you for that advice, I do remember reading that somewhere that sudden good control can actually do more bad than good.

    Constantly worried about future complications

Hello, I recently spoke about how I've changed from finger prick testing to the Freestyle libre 2, definitely a game changer and in my opinion should be standard for testing. I've been Type 1 for 10 years and for some of that my control was awful while other times okay but not great. It's not...

    Blood sugar spike

That sounds very similar to what is happening with my sugars, I didn't want to cut carbs out my diet due to me already being skinny, not sure how to stop these spikes happening.
