I’m sorry I’ve only just come across this post but I could’ve wrote it. How are you doing now?

Is anyone on oral meds and insulin?

They didn’t check it when I was diagnosed or after. I doctor did a c peptide test and saw I was producing a lot of insulin so they changed my diagnosis. I’ve tried tresiba and Lantus but I feel levermier is the quickest to change and respond if needed.

Is anyone on oral meds and insulin?

So very true. I didn’t get a referral after being changed to type 2. Sigh.

Is anyone on oral meds and insulin?

If it helps I’m exactly the same. It’s hard to not eat junk when you don’t get results eating the same way as others that are successful. I did low carb and keto for a while and my levels refused to come down. Crazy.

Is anyone on oral meds and insulin?

Thanks for replying. That’s great! So you’re okay doing low carb along with the Jardiance? I was advised against it.

Is anyone on oral meds and insulin?

    Hi. I’m a type 2, but I’m not 100% convinced as I was apparently a type 1 for 11 years (I feel like I’m in-between the two) and I am on: 25mg Empagliflozin x 1 a day Glucophage SR 1000mg tablets x 2 a day Levemier insulin 10 units x 2 a day Fiasp insulin with carb counting with each...

Just an update on keto/low carb high levels

See my gp said to try for another few weeks, then if no change go back onto empa. Out of interest, how long did it take you to see your levels go down at all? Here’s mine today.

Just an update on keto/low carb high levels

I’ve read about this! Out of interest, how did you combat your high glucose levels until they settled?

Just an update on keto/low carb high levels

Just spoke to my go who was great. She said to hold my nerve and keep going for a bit longer, she said I’m not to panic about my levels unless they hit 20 or above considering I’m doing keto. My ketones are 1.4 this morning. Levels still around the 18 mark so I took some insulin; gp agreed...

Just an update on keto/low carb high levels

This is it: I think it’s severe insulin resistance. There isn’t anything I can do bar dietary things, am I right? I’m just worried how long I can have high sugar levels for. Gah. I’m probably going to have to put more insulin in which is CRAZY

Just an update on keto/low carb high levels

I’m 5’5 and I weigh 11 stone 13. I have lost two stone from being on empa. I’ll get the test sorted, in the meantime I’ll cut the chocolate out. Do I take insulin to bring this lot down is the question. As you can see from the photos above it doesn’t do much when I do

Just an update on keto/low carb high levels

I use the freestyle LibreLink sensor, but I test with my meter too. I am confident in those. I’m not showing any of the classic symptoms, I’m not even very thirsty. Since coming off the empagliflozin my urination has returned to normal. I get the occasional headache and tiredness but I work...

Just an update on keto/low carb high levels

I have coffee and double cream for breakfast every day. Usually three cups. Lunch is usually a salad— tuna Mayo or chicken Mayo with round lettuce and cucumber. If I’ve made the low carb carrot cake I have a slice of that—3.6g of carbs in total. If I snack it’s two squares of 85% Lindt...

Just an update on keto/low carb high levels

I think I need to get tested again. I’m going to call my doctor tomorrow and see if I can arrange another c peptide test, but I’m not holding out much hope. What if I’m a type 1 after all? How can I be this insulin resistant as a type 2? I’m trying to burn the glucose but I’m struggling to...
