    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

I've only lost one pound in the last three weeks. But that's okay. It's still a loss and my diet doctor says at this point I won't have anymore huge losses over a short period of time. Starting date: July 14, 2018 Starting weight: 193.6 pounds Current weight: 159.5 pounds Weight loss: 34.1...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.3. Third 5.3 FBG reading in a row. It's -29°C outside. Maybe my meter froze. :wacky:

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in July 2018, and I perhaps have become a little obsessed about it. I test more than I perhaps should, since my blood glucose levels have pretty much stabilized. I know one reason I get very upset with a higher reading is when there's no reason for it. I...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

What were your readings when you first started? I see you've been at it for three months. My readings were still normalizing after three months. Decreasing steadily, but still in the higher levels. Even after six months I get the occasional spike. Maybe you need more time?

5.3 at 6:30 a.m. Same reading as yesterday, and the reading before. Ever get the feeling your meter is stuck? ;)

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.3 this morning. Happy Wednesday from the snowy, frozen, barren wasteland of c-c-c-cold C-C-C-Canada.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I'm in Toronto (Mississauga) too, and it's been crazy. They're saying it's going to feel like -30°C until Friday.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.3. I had the dosage of my last diabetes medication - Metformin - halved from 2,000 mg/day to 1,000 mg/day two weeks ago at my "six months since diagnosis" blood test results doctor's appointment. So far, so good!

    Loosing my way LCHF/Keto

I turned 48 over Christmas but went into perimenopause at 42. I actually had no idea that 1) being a woman; and 2) hormones/menopause affected weight loss until I Googled why I wasn't losing weight. As I said I lost nothing for two months but my blood results were normalizing nicely. By my...

    Hemoglobin Levels

Thank you. I actually had my six months since diabetes diagnosis blood work done two weeks ago. My red blood count was normal and my hemoglobin was 130 (range is 120-160). So I'm not sure it's anemia. The blood donor nurse said a lack of vitamin C could impede the absorption of iron into the...

    Loosing my way LCHF/Keto

Hi. I don’t know how long you've been at it but when I first started LCHF and exercising I didn’t lose a single pound for the first two months. Then I lost like five pounds then nothing for the next six weeks. It was really frustrating, especially hearing how the weight was "dropping off"...

    Hemoglobin Levels

Hi everyone. Some background: I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in July 2018. Started LCHF and exercising. Six months later I've lost 30 pounds, reduced my A1C from 11.8% to 5.9%, and have been taken off two of three medications. I'm other words, I'm pretty healthy. I regularly donate blood...

why are some of us not happy with morning readings ?

I was thinking the same thing! Sometimes when I get like a 6.7 I think the world is ending. Does it matter where in the normal range the reading is or as long as it's within the normal range it's fine? The only time I really get upset is when a get a high reading and there's no reason for it...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Thank you! It seems I contracted it in the hospital when I was having my eye operation on Friday. Kind of perfect timing considering I'm already on antibiotics for the surgery. :)

My first thread! Greetings from Canada!

Uh oh. A Canadiens fan. I'm in Toronto. ;) I was diagnosed in July 2018. I was put on Janumet (Metformin plus Sitagliptin) and Jardiance. I've had such good results with low carb high fat (reduced my A1C from 11.8% to 6.1% in three months) that I've been taken off the Jardiance and Sitagliptin...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Happy Christmas Eve! Woke up to a nice 5.9. Yesterday's readings included a 14.7 and a 3.9. Friday surgery and getting strep throat wreak havoc on the ol' numbers!

    Operation Question

No, it was day surgery. I was in and out of the hospital in four hours. Thanks.
