Apparently he put his foot into some sewage when walking to the diabetic clinic.Ulcer got infected.Long story short went to the hospital in pain red line down the side of his leg .Doc said that night had to have a amputation. That was years ago.

My cousin passed away this evening age about 58/59.He was in a wheel chair had his leg amputated years ago from a foot ulcer on 2 blood pressure tablets,water tablets ,metformin and insulin obese and a Heavy smoker.Not too well controlled but not seriously out of control.Feet have been swelling...

The problem I'm having at the moment is how do you walk away from a gorgeous cake marked down to a quarter of the price at the end of the day if you going low carb or on a starvation diet.

If you lose 5 kg 10 kg or whatever on these restrictive programs and put the weight back on after the so called treatment period does the effect last or does one have to keep on a similar restrictive maintenance program

I do that too 2 cups (up to now) problem is the caffeine seems to set me up for high spikes during the day even if the coffee and milk on it's own don't really affect my b.s..

I agree I found when I had the GTT test highest was 15 after 3 hours.But there was still a lot of the glucose in my stomach and when I ate later in the day my blood sugar went through the roof just managed to get the 3 litres of water I was so thirsty for.lol

Correct and for that reason the doctor I went to last told me to stop having it immediately.

3metformin per day 500 mg.Take at 12 or 1 pm again at 5 or 6 then at 12 am. Don't often eat if I have 2 cups of coffee in the morning.
