    Diabain?

Although this was posted back in January, I wanted to respond. I have never taken this product, but I did take Vitabase Blood Sugar Fomula that I had sent over from the US, for a while. I found that fantastic for lowering and regulating my blood sugar. I only stopped because funds got too...

    burning, itching feet

Another thing I have found is that because the nerves end in the hands and feet, what you feel in your feet can often be a reflection of what is going on elsewhere in your body. One area that itched a lot was on the very bottom edge of my left heel. When I checked that area with a reflexology...

    burning, itching feet

I had this for several years prior to changing my diet. Yes, it is neuropathy related. I also used to get 'gouty' toes, like having needles stabbed into them! A short while after dumping gluten and most carbs and changing to an all-natural food diet, it, and the awful restless legs that also...

    NEUROPATHY REVERSING?

Um. Wouldn't it be better to take B complex supplements and get the lot? For years I always understood that B vitamins should be taken together, as taken individually they could unbalance the body. Personally within my supplements I take 50mg B Complex twice a day plus 'flushing' niacin...

    NEUROPATHY REVERSING?

The trouble with drugs is, as I have experienced, that they very often only just 'stop the body complaining' without really dealing with the actual issue. At best they maintain the 'equilibrium', at worse they create even more problems than they solve. Very few of them actually 'cure' anything...

    NEUROPATHY REVERSING?

What I have learned over the last 4 years is it's not just about too much carb, but it's also about too little real nutrition. Much of the carb and other highly processed stuff out there is pretty 'dead' as far as nutrition is concerned and actually robs the body of more than it gives. Sugar...

    What happened to Ken?

Ummm. I don't remember mentioning any names or referring to anyone specific, so am at a loss as to why some people automatically assumed I was 'getting' at anyone in particular. I merely gave my observation on the comment that Nigel made. Maybe some individuals have given out a lot of good...

    What happened to Ken?

Yes, many of us here today are where we are now thanks to the advice and support given by a lot of people over the years. Depends on your perspective of 'where you are now' as to whether it was 'excellent' or not......

Week 3 and kilos not dropping but inches are??

Hi. It can take a few weeks for the body to properly change over to a ketonic state when you are eating low carb and during the 'changeover' the energy levels can take a bit of a dip - and you can also sometimes feel a bit yukky as the body starts to detox too. Once the body is used to burning...

I am a type 2 taking metformin, gliclazide and Byetta

When you look at the list of 'side-effects' of drugs, the very common ones are things like a cough, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and rashes. If you think about all the ways that the body uses to detox, it will be through the lungs, the skin, the mouth, the kidneys, the bowels, etc. All drugs...

    low carb savory snacks? ideas.

Savoury crackers Ground Almonds - about 100 to 150gms Grated cheddar - as much or as little as you like but they do need some to bind them together (you can add some grated parmesan too if you like it strong) chopped garlic (optional) or chopped fresh herbs Salt and pepper to taste. A little...

Another reason to watch those carbs...

As far as lifespan is concerned, surely, if modern medicine was the panacea it is made out to be, no one would get sick any more and we would all be living until we are 125? With all this 'progress', where is our extended life-span? Maybe some people do live into their 70s or 80s, but at what...

Another reason to watch those carbs...

I don't know how the 'Ezekiel' bread is made - never had any, but my understanding of sprouted grain bread is that it is best dehydrated rather than baked, as then the enzymes are all still intact - which is a big reason why you sprout it in the first place..... If it is in a 'loaf' then it...

Gardening/ HERBS and Low carb diets.

Wow. That's lovely Lib. Some parts of Swansea are very nice. A friend of ours lives at Clydach, up on the hill and she can see the sea too - at night there is the most beautiful view of the bay and all the lights. We are up in one of the valleys above Swansea so are too far to see the sea...

Gardening/ HERBS and Low carb diets.

I've only just got to this thread. Had to laugh about the dog eating the pears DD! Was it the pears that triggered the diabetes though, or the grain-based dog food and biscuits??? Lib, was reading about jerusalem artichokes the other day in Sally Fallon's 'Nourishing Traditions' book. She...

I wonder if it was the fact that you ate them 'carefully' that was the problem.....

You are right of course in that most people don't actually drink pure water on it's own. All additives are dehydrating, all sugars are dehydrating, all carbohydrates are dehydrating, all chemicals are dehydrating, all alcohols are dehydrating, tea and coffee are dehydrating and even herb and...

    Low Carbing issues.

My BP has gone down since I dumped the processed carbs and upped the Celtic Sea Salt. So much so that I have also been able to dump the BP tablets. I tended to eat fairly low salt before that but now consume at least a teaspoonful a day. I can control it well because I rarely, if ever, eat...

The answer is Grant, that I don't know about the gluten aspect of sprouted grains, however, as far as the nutrients are concerned, they are much more nutritious, because not only have the phytates been neutralised, but the germination triggers the nutrient 'storm' to nurture the growing grain...
