    MEDTRONIC 670g

I'm all for a good curry, I just wouldn't expect to use that much insulin. Are you including micro basal amounts plus the bolus for food? I'd probably subsitute rice for a veg dish and perhaps share a naan with the missus. Lots of my meals are sub 30g carbs but I do fall off the wagon sometimes...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

Conference sponsored by Medtronic? ;o) Most advanced just means has most features? Doesn't necessarily mean most stable or most accurate. Anyways...... I'm feeling rough today. Monday night to Tuesday - cannula issues. Would not settle. Think I did 4 or 5 replacements in 24 hours. Woke...

    Please explain: calibration using ISIG

I found a basic website that I've saved on my comp as a link, and can also use it on my phone. Apoligies if linking to other sites is a "no-no" I can edit the link out if it's a problem https://www.cal-factor.com/ I only tend to calibrate 3x per day and I don't usually do it if it's wildly...

    Please explain: calibration using ISIG

Annoyed +++ changed cannula this morning after a calibration. same usual morning calibration got to work and 14.0 so replaced cannula assuming it hadn't settled right (hadn't eaten anything bar a couple of black coffees) bolused to correct pump said enter BG to continue AM BG said 8.4 now...

    MEDTRONIC 670g

Just reading the blog post about curry Gary. 200g + of carbs? That doesn't sound right. I just checked how much insulin that would give me. 25u!!!! Curry should be relatively low carb. Basmatic rice low GI. How many grammes of carbs are you estimating the naan bread had in? Although I wouldn't...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

Cheers Gary Loved the 5.30am alarm to calibrate this morning ;) My calibration schedule is pretty spot on. First one is not long after I wake. Fasted, no bolus on board, stable. Then I'll do another on before lunch, assuming the same (no bolus and stable) and the same before bed. I'll "enter...

    Guardian 3 sensor body location

Only used abdo. Back or arm is too much of a faff for me. I've pretty much lost any faith in the sensors after another one failed. Never had this issue with the 640 and Enlite sensors. I'm probably going to try manual mode and see if this works and stable. If not then I'm gonna look at my options.

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

We're talking the space of a few minutes between calibration and correction dose. There is no way 4u can drop me from close to 20 down to 11ish in minutes. It's definitely not sens factor. Plus, other corrections in the last 6-8 weeks have been fine. This is a 3 day old sensor. I've just had...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

That makes sense! It does seem like I get a bit of traction, then it goes. The alarms and requests to enter a BG at 3am are ridiculous. I still am not liking the slow hyper recovery and I've tried to follow advice of being patient, letting the system learn etc but there are "buts". I'm still...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

Hi everyone! Weird weekend. New sensor on Sat - working fine. Sunday I had a low of 4 and was just about to go out, so ate a banana and wife drove. By the time we got to the beach I had 3 down arrows and the sensor said I was 2.8. BG confirmed (2.7). So I bought a caramel slice, which seemed...

Medtronic 640g sub standard infusion sets

I think I was stressing a bit, but I had a right game putting in a new cannula at the weekend. It just would not sit comfortably - took 4 goes to get it right. But a million x better than the Mio. TIP: replace your cannula in the morning, not the end of the day. You might think it's all in...

    But that's not Sharp!

Perhaps don't see them as "sharps bins" but more as medical waste bins?

Which pumps have low glucose suspend?

The 670g can stop giving insulin before a hypo, or during. This is manual mode though. There's no suspend feature if you're using auto mode but it does stop micro-basal (yes, I know it's technically micro bolus but this all happens when not eating so really it's micro basal). I've not noticed...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

Meeting went well. Sat in a cafe, got a free coffee (black, no sugar, natch). Went through my Carelink in detail. Actually showed me I'm doing OK. 88% time in Auto and 79% TIR with predicted A1C of 6.8 so that's a significant drop from my last 7.7 if it's accurate. Showed my night time settings...

    Medtronic 780g closed loop

I believe the 690g will be the next Medtronic pump which will have built in Bluetooth. Medtronic have also partnered up with Tidepool and are working towards Tidepool Loop functionality. I think the addition of BT is a potential game changer...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

So I sent quite a lengthy email to my Medtronic contact who said they would get in touch with the clinical specialist team in Western Australia to give me a call. I had an email and a clinician is going to come down to see me at work, talk through some of my issues and concerns, and hopefully...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

Yeah I think Novorapid starts to work in around 20 mins, peaks around 2-3 hours and lingers around for anything up to 5 (ish) hours, individual depending. I'm trying to be a bit more patient in AM and allow it to do it's thang. It does bring me down, just in no really hurry. Still learning...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

I'm really not sure - on the 670g user groups on Facebook the consensus seems to be shorter active time, some are as low as 2 hours. I was previously on 3.5. I might try jumping up to 4 hours and see what effect that has. I've been uploading my data to Tidepool as I find it much easier to...
