    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

No I don't believe it's my carb ratios. (Currently at 8.5g/u Insulin Sens factor 1.6/u and active time 3hrs, target 5.0-6.5) Not entirely sure why it allows an adjustable target range as I understood the pump only had 2 pre set targets 6.7 and 8.3. I don't know what, if any effect the user...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

Yuck, ****** night. BG started going up around 7pm. Again I'm up at 12 wanting AM to help, but it doesn't. Manual mode and correction. Still rising. Changed cannula. Bolus. Still rising. 2 more "correction" doses and still rising so changed cannula again, checked for bubbles etc. All good. Woke...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

New sensor hasn't died yet. Life goals! So the algo does little to correct highs. It just doesn't bring you down fast enough (plus the time while you were going high). It's just too long. My question is, am I screwing up the pumps learning by being aggressive in my corrections in mm, then...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

Oh and would you believe it... Sensors just crapped out and lost signal. Searching for transmitter..... Again. Just eaten dinner and was about to meal bolus. Jesus H.

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

It's worked fine before it just seems to be this box. I've no idea why one died during my sleep. More worrying that suspend before low isn't automatically enabled when youre kicked from auto mode. Really cba with waiting all the time. Wait to warm up, calibrate, enter BG. Even when it does...

    1st Pump Medtronic 670G

Hey Auswi - waves from WA Be patient. It will frustrate and confuse you. Sometimes when you're doing everything right, the pump and cgm doesn't play nice. I've recently jumped on the 670g bandwagon. It's an interesting ride, but fire away with any q's. Good bunch of people here.

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

It is very frustrating. Bearing in mind, I was kicked out of AM due to sensor dying while I was asleep and new sensor this morning died. The most recent one I've attached seems to be ok so far but of course, you wait for the warm up and calibration, again. So nearly 24 hours with very little CGM...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

Bloody sensors just died again. Balls. Off home instead of having a lunch break to pick up another sensor.

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

And another sensors bites the dust. Fitted less than 24 hours. Woke this morning to "replace sensor". Looks like it died at 3am. Odd as the sensor told me I was hypo at 2.2 before bed but I felt spiffing and when I eventually BG tested I was 12. Grr. Now pump tells me I'm 2.7. I feel fine. BG...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

Nope - it seems correction doses in AM are way lower in comparison. I don't believe sensitivity factor is different in AM once it's been set in MM. (Not precise numbers here...) But if I was at say, 12. AM correction dose would suggest 1,2 but manual mode would likely be double (and I'd...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

Yes it does, but the dose it suggests to correct high levels are lower than I would use in MM, and it's much slower in AM to get back to range.

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

Yup, it gives micro boluses to keep you close to target range. This system, in automode, is really different than other pumps. There really isn’t a basal rate in the traditional sense. What you have is AM giving you micro boluses of insulin every 5 minutes based on your sensor readings and how...

    Basal-IQ

My bad, I thought I read it was live, but it actually read as : Live Data Sharing Yes – high/low alerts and current glucose level/trend Which led me to interpret live data sharing and current glucose level as a more accurate method. So it "shares" live data but doesn't mean it's a live...

    Basal-IQ

Interesting - the G6 is tempting, looking to the future for me. Not entirely sure it's approved in Aus yet but I do like the idea of less calibrating and real time stats from the CGM. I'm assuming it's not reading ISF to give pretty much live levels? I like the look of the t:slim pump too. Is it...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

Didn't seem to effect the accuracy of the sensor when I extended it's life. But they do seem to die suddenly without much warning. I'm finding correcting a high blood sugar is slow and laborious with auto mode. It just doesn't seem to want to give me enough insulin to effectively lower my...

    MEDTRONIC 670g

Hmm interesting... So what does a TIR of 70% equate to in hba1c % I can only compare my previous higher a1c's to my current one, and for all intents and purposes I don't feel any different, per se. I think for a non-diabetic a1c can be anything from 4- 6 but is that realistic target a T1...

    MEDTRONIC 670g

For those aiming for super tight control and low hba1c, would love to know why this is the target for you and does your specialist agree with this target or were you told "this is what you need to aim for"? If my next bloods come back and I'm lower than my current 7.7 I'll be happy, but I doubt...

    MEDTRONIC 670g

Good stuff mate. I was thinking of doing the same but I'm not consistent enough to maintain a blog. I guess I'm almost doing one here, in a way. Woke up at 8.4 with BG at 8.9 so pretty close. Stable overnight. Today will be a good day.

    MEDTRONIC 670g

New convert here so happy to answer any questions, either within this thread, or the one linked above. It's not an easy transition, I'll tell you that. I'd "learnt" the 640g quite well and got down to a a1c of 7.7. I seem to having good and bad days with the 670g but you have to rethink a few...
